dc.description.abstract | Spodoptera frugiperda is an invasive insect that has been a pest in Indonesia. Given many negative impacts caused by the use of chemical pesticides on the environment, an alternative control was carried out, namely the use of botanical pesticide. This study aims to test the effectiveness of several botanical pesticide, namely Ketapang leaf, noni leaf and legetan leaf against the inhibition of larval feeding activity, the mortality of larvae, the formation of pupae, and the formation of imago Spodoptera frugiperda in the laboratory. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas of Sumatera Utara starting from May 2022 to July 2022, using a Non-Factoral Completely Randomized Design with 10 levels of treatment, namely control, 10% ketapang leaf extract, ketapang leaf extract 20%, ketapang leaf extract 30%, noni leaf extract 10%, noni leaf extract 20%, noni leaf extract 30%, legetan leaf extract 10%, legetan leaf extract 20%, and legetan leaf extract 30%. The results showed that the use of botanical pesticides from the leaves of ketapang, noni, and legetan significantly affected the inhibition of larval feeding activity, the mortality of the larvae, the formation of pupae, and the formation of imago. The treatment that was effective in suppressing the mortality of larvae was found in the use of ketapang leaf extract with a concentration of 30%, which was 85%. | en_US |
