dc.description.abstractBackground: Taeniasis is a disease caused by infection Taenia sp. infection, one of which is Taenia solium, whose intermediate host is pigs. Adult tapeworms develop in the intestines of the host (human) after ingesting undercooked infected pork, causing taeniasis. One of the dishes originating from Bali uses pork as its basic ingredient, namely pork lawar, which uses either cooked, undercooked pork, or raw pork. Many Balinese people, including those in Kerobokan Village, are accustomed to consuming pork lawar. Objective: To determine the relationship between the habit of consuming pork lawar and the incidence of taeniasis in Kerobokan Village, Badung Regency, Bali. Methods: This is a categoric correlational study with a cross-sectional design, to describe the relationship between the habit of consuming pork lawar and the incidence of taeniasis in Kerobokan Village, Badung Regency, Bali. The sample in this study is the community in Kerobokan Village, Badung Regency, Bali. With a correlation coefficient of 0.25, a total of 128 subjects were obtained using the consecutive sampling method. The data in this study were obtained by filling out online questionnaire. Results: This study found that the more than half of respondents had a habit of consuming good pork lawar (50.8%), and only one out of 128 of respondents (0.08%) had a history of taeniasis. The significance value of the correlation (p) between the habit of eating pork lawar and a history of taeniasis was 0.312. Conclusion: There is no correlation between the habit of consuming pork lawar and the incidence of taeniasis.en_US
