Background. Diaper dermatitis is a skin disease that often occurs in babies, especially in babies whose diapers are always wet and rarely changed. This disease is a condition in which inflammation occurs in the diaper area, such as buttocks, perianal areas, genitals, inner thighs, and waistline. The incidence of diaper dermatitis in Indonesia reaches 7-35% in male and female under 3 years infants, with the highest incidence occurring in aged 6-12 months. From a study in China about fifteen factors suspected to be related to diaper dermatitis, diarrhea was the main risk factor for diaper dermatitis. Objectives. This study aims to analyze the association between the duration of diarrhea and the severity of diaper dermatitis in children aged 0 – 24 months. Method. This study was an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design involving 58 infants with diarrhea and diaper dermatitis. Retrieval of data used the interviews method on respondents using a questionnaire. Bivariate analysis using the Spearman correlation test to analyze the association between the duration of diarrhea and the severity of diaper dermatitis in infants and children. Results. There was a correlation between the duration of diarrhea and the severity of diaper dermatitis in children aged 0 – 24 months (p=0.0001, r (correlation)=0.536). Conclusion. The longer duration of diarrhea occurs in infants and children, the higher severity of diaper dermatitis.
