dc.description.abstract | A research "Analysis of factors effecting the competitiveness of industry in
Industrial Area of-Medan'\ has been conducted-in basis of fact that, domestic market
of Indonesia is overwhelmed progressively by foreign products, that otherwise can be
actua11y produced by our own country.
In industry, there are two main factors effecting the competitiveness of an
organization, i.e., : Internal and external factors. In this research, it is only internal
factor to be made as focus of discussion to improve the superiority and
competitiveness of the organization. Therefore, there are several factors and sub
factors determining the internal competitiveness of the organization :
1. Factor of Resource and sub factor : Human power, innovation resource,
technological resource,
2. Factor of capability of organizational resource, capability of financial resource,
capability of technological resource and capability of source distribution,
3. Key competence and sub factor : Valuable capability, rare capability, too
expensive capability. We must be aware that these internal factors are specific
characteristics of organization -in. managing the company, thus each organization
must undermine the sustainable and continuous internal potencies.
This research was made in Ind~tri~] Area of Medan by using the An~Jytjc~J
Hierarchy Process method and talcing three organizations as corporation.
The result of calculation by using Analytical Hierarchy Process indicated that
capability lied on second position, 31.9%. This capability would be very effective if
each organization was aware that capability (skill and knowledge) was the most
important and significant asset of organizations to encourage and improve the
competitiveness. Of all three organizations, only organization. A placed the Human
Power as main priority, while two remaining organizations placed their priorities on
capability of Resource Distribution, 40.7% and 30.7%, respectively. | en_US |
