Tingkat Pengetahuan Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sumatera Utara Stambuk 2018 Tentang Tuberculosis Multidrug Resistant
Abstract
Background. Tuberculosis is a disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis and can enter through the respiratory tract and then lodge in the lungs. In 2016, as many as 1.7 million people died from Tuberculosis (TB). Tuberculosis Multidrug Resistance/ TB MDR is the biggest problem in the prevention and eradication of TB in the world. It is very important for health workers to know the factors that can cause TB to develop into TB MDR. Purpose. This study was conducted to determine the level of knowledge of students from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of North Sumatra class of 2018 about TB MDR. Method. This research is a quantitative research with a descriptive design. The research sample was all students of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of North Sumatra. Results. The level of knowledge of students from the Faculty of Medicine, University of North Sumatra class of 2018 regarding TB MDR was mostly in the good category with a total of 216 students (85%), followed by a sufficient level of knowledge of 24 students (9.4%), and a level of lack of knowledge of 14 students (5.5%). Conclusion. The level of knowledge of students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of North Sumatra class of 2018 against Multidrug Resistant Tuberculosis is in the good category.
