dc.description.abstractThe influence most felt by street vendors in Bandar Setia Village is the implementation of the social distancing policy. As a result some traders are confused and decreased income. Social distancing still has an impact on the community's economy. One of the affected groups of people is the street vendors in the Bandar Setia Village Area. This study aims to describe the socio-economic comparison of conventional food and beverage traders and traders who use social media applications during the Covid-19 pandemic (a case study in Bandar Setia Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency). Street vendors are one of the businesses in trade or one form of the informal sector. Street vendors who, with relatively little capital, work in the field of production and sale of goods (services) to meet the needs of certain groups in society, these businesses are carried out in places that are considered strategic in an informal environment. In the field of trade, or it can also be called street vendors, it can be categorized as popular or community sector. The business activities of street vendors are informal business activities, which can be said to be unofficial or illegal and simple business activities. Socio-economic is everything related to economic action in fulfilling community needs such as: income, employment, education, ownership status, number of dependents, residence and health. The research method is descriptive qualitative to get a clear picture of the socio-economic comparison of technical traders data collection by study, observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that the researcher also compared that sales made conventionally were more than sales using this online application because the selling price of food and beverages was a little more expensive due to shipping costs. However, the use of this online application is also quite helpful in terms of promoting sale of food and beverages to the general public.en_US
