Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a group of non-communicable diseases which is a public health problem in the world and has caused the fourth most deaths worldwide. Various problems caused by COPD raise the urgency to find screening methods that can be carried out quickly, easily and inexpensively. The CAPTURE (COPD Assessment in Primary Care to Identify Undiagnosed Respiratory Disease and Exacerbation Risk) method is an alternative screening method for COPD. The high mortality rate in COPD sufferers and the CAPTURE method is an alternative screening for COPD disease, so the results of early detection of COPD using the CAPTURE method need to be known to the general public in Indonesia, especially in Medan. Objective. Knowing how the results of early detection of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease using the CAPTURE method at Puskesmas Simpang Limun, Medan in 2022. Method. This study uses a descriptive method with a cross sectional design using the total sampling method. Result. The total sample in this study was 31 people consisting of 25 people (80.6%) male and 6 people (19.4%) female with an average age of 60 years. There were 21 people (67.7%) not at risk of COPD, 7 people (22.6%) at risk of COPD, and 3 people (9.7%) very at risk of COPD. Groups at risk of COPD were found in the male gender (9.7%), the age group 61-65 years (6.5%), the smoker group (9.7%), the group with a thin BMI (6.5%), and the group with a heavy Brinkman index (6.5%). Conclusion. The CAPTURE method has the potential to be used as an effective routine COPD screening test at Puskesmas Simpang Limun Medan in 2022. | en_US |
