Background. HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that attacks the immune system by infecting white blood cells, specifically called CD4 cells. Patients with HIV who are not treated will cause Acquired Immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Tuberculosis (TB) caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis (M.TB) is an opportunistic infection which is still a major problem of morbidity and mortality in people with HIV/AIDS. Aim. Knowing the description of the types of tuberculosis infection in adult HIV/AIDS sufferers at H. Adam Malik General Hospital in 2020-2022. Methods. This research is a retrospective study with total sampling method which will be analyzed using univariate analysis. Results. The most common type of TB infection was pulmonary TB in 30 patients (78.9%), followed by lymphadenitis TB in 6 patients (15.8%), bone TB in 1 patient (2.6%), and pleural TB in 1 patient (2.6%). In this study based on the type of TB infection, the majority of HIV-TB patients had pulmonary TB infection. Conclusion. Description of the types of tuberculosis infection in adults with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) in H. Adam Malik General Hospital in 2020-2022 is a male sex, in the age group 36-45 years, affected by pulmonary tuberculosis, without anti-TB drugs resistance, and have a CD4 count <200 cells/mm3.
