dc.description.abstractBackground. Half of the world’s population has ever experienced headaches. Headaches are also one of the most common symptoms encountered in the neurology clinic. One of the factors that induce headaches is food. Aim. The aim of this study is to prove the food factor or specific food that cause headache episode in Medan city population. Methods. Cross-sectional methods are chosen as the design for this research with primary data coming from respondent questionnaires. Result. A total of 721 respondents from 21 different regions in Medan city with 400 of them, 85 respondents experiencing migraine and 315 experiencing a tension-type headache. There is no significant role of food factor consumed by the respondent with headache episodes appearance (p=0,162, p=0,168, p=0,791, p=0,661) and there is no correlation between food type and headache appearance in the subject. Conclusion. food factor and type of food has no role in headache appearance in Medan city populations.en_US
