Gambaran Hasil Pemeriksaan Ekokardiografi Pasien Gagal Jantung di RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan pada Tahun 2021

Abstract

Introduction. The incidence of heart failure continues to increase globally. In diagnosing and evaluating heart failure, there are several reliable modalities, one of which is echocardiography. Echocardiography is useful in many aspects of assessing clinical parameters, including ejection fraction (EF), volume and function of the walls and chambers of the heart. Aim. The purpose of this study was to describe the results of echocardiographic examination of heart failure patients at H. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan in 2021. Methods. This research has a retrospective descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. Results. The majority of sufferers come from productive age groups. 73.62% of patients were male. Most etiology in this study is ischemic disease. It was found that 49.08% of the samples had eccentric hypertrophy, 46.63% had concentric hypertrophy, 1.84% had concentric remodelling, and 2.45% had normal LV geometry. The average LVEF is 44.70% with HFpEF being the most dominating. 77.30% had normal TAPSE and from the 121 available data, 46.63% had grade I diastolic dysfunction, 14.72% had grade III diastolic dysfunction, and the rest, 12.88% had grade II diastolic dysfunction. Conclusion. Most heart failure patients at H. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan in 2021 came from productive age groups. The most common etiology is ischemic disease. The dimensions and volume of the LV in the majority of patients is eccentric hypertrophy. HFpEF predominates and TAPSEs are mostly normal. Out of 121 data regarding LV diastolic dysfunction, grade I dysfunction is the most frequent.
