Gambaran Tingkat Pengetahuan Remaja mengenai Gonore di Lingkungan V Pasar Gunung Tua

Abstract

Background: Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease caused by the bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoeae and is transmitted through sexual intercourse with an infected person. Gonorrhea cases are sexually transmitted infections that are often found in the community and continue to increase yearly. According to CDC data, from 2014 to 2018 there was an increase in gonorrhea cases in adolescents caused by Adolescents having a high curiosity about something and a lack of knowledge about gonorrhea itself. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct more in-depth research on this matter so that adolescents know more about gonorrhea and take preventive measures as early as possible so that gonorrhea cases in Indonesia can decrease. Objective: To describe the level of knowledge of adolescents about gonorrhea in Lingkungan V Pasar Gunung Tua. Methods: This research was conducted with a descriptive method with a cross-sectional design, and the sampling technique was consecutive sampling to determine the number of samples. The research sample was 93 people with a direct questionnaire instrument to respondents who had been validated with the Statistical Product and service solutions (SPSS), which was then processed and analyzed using SPSS which was presented in the form of a frequency distribution table. Results: The results of this study found 27 respondents (29%) had good knowledge, 28 respondents (30.1%) had sufficient knowledge and 38 respondents (40.9%) lacked knowledge. Conclusion: Adolescents’ knowledge about gonorrhea in Lingkungan V Pasar Gunung Tua is low.
