This script examines oral traditions that contain the local wisdom of the Devayan people culture in Simeulue Regency, Aceh. This study was conducted using ethnographic methods that relied on live-in participation observations, interviews and documentation. The results of this study show that the Devayan people imbibed the meaning of life related to their environment through the oral tradition of the lyrics of Silongor and Aluha songs, Smong poems and Smong pantun. Meanwhile, an expression of gratitude to Allah SWT for the success of rice paddy farming, and a request to be kept away from disasters and things that interfere with rice growth, as well as strengthening silaturrahmi ropes among fellow farmers, were expressed through Manshalawat Ahai ceremony. Thus, it can be said that the oral tradition of the Devayan people under study contains local wisdom that needs to be preserved, and that is in accordance with the mandate of the Act on the Advancement of Culture.
