This study aims to describe the implementation of the development of Mangrove Ecotourism in Batu Ampar Village from the beginning of development until it can develop as it is now. Mangrove Ecotourism in Batu Ampar Village is one of the tourist attractions in the Anambas Islands which has its own charm because it is different from the tourism that we generally find in the Anambas Islands, namely beach tourism and has a mangrove forest that is still well preserved.
The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method with the aim of being able to describe what facts in the field. Researchers went directly to the field by living in for 2 months starting on 26 August - 26 October 2021 and living in the homes of local people. Data were collected using various methods such as participatory observation, by making observations at mangrove tourism objects alone or with informants, participating in tourism training and making traditional food. Data was also collected through in-depth interviews with base, key, and supporting informants. And as additional data, researchers conducted a literature study related to this research.
The results of the study show that in the implementation of Mangrove Ecotourism development in Batu Ampar Village prioritises the active role of local community participation in its development. The parties involved in the development of Mangrove Ecotourism in Batu Ampar Village are the Batu Ampar Village government, BumDes, Pokdarwis, Medco Energi company and the participation of local community members. It can also be seen that the current Mangrove Ecotourism development focuses on the development of tourist supporting facilities and infrastructure. the development of Mangrove Ecotourism has a positive impact on local communities, especially in the economic and environmental fields, so that in its development mangrove ecotourism has the full support of the Batu Ampar Village community.
