Phylloplane fungi is non-pathogenic fungi on the leaf surface which can be use to control plant diseases caused by pathogens. One of the most damaging banana plant diseases is fusarium wilt caused by the pathogenic fungi Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense (Foc). Mangrove (Rhizopora apiculata) is an area with high biodiversity where microorganisms producing antimicrobial compounds grow well. These microorganisms can be used as biological agents. This study aims to determine the various types of phylloplane fungi from mangrove plant (Rhizopora apiculata) and their potential for Foc in banana plant (Musa acuminata L.). 20 phylloplane isolates have been found and identified through DNA sequencing with an identity match of 83.88-100% and through in vitro test it was found that three of 20 phylloplane fungus had the potential to inhibit Foc. These fungus are Lasiodiplodia theobromae (67.43%), Trichoderma harzianum (66.65%), and Nigrospora sphaerica (65.33%). Banana plant treated with 3 potential phylloplane fungi showed lower leaf disease incidence without significant differences (p = 0.000) and significantly lower levels of rhizome discoloration (p = 0.000). The best inhibition of disease incidence in rhizome was shown by the Lasiodiplodia theobromae treatment (11.11%).en_US
