Abstract

Child Protection is carried out in order to fulfill children's basic needs such as proper housing, education, health, clothing and food, and legal protection. And ensure that children are protected from physical and non-physical violence either from family, fellow friends or from the management of the orphanage. Then the Child Empowerment Program is carried out to hone children's potential in facing life conditions in the future. Then with indicators strengthening independence with Empowerment of Entrepreneurship-Based Independence Training, children will understand that entrepreneurial activities are able to compete and can create new jobs that are useful for themselves and their families in the future. The results of research conducted at the Happy Children's Orphanage in Medan show the factors causing children to live in orphanages, and look at child protection programs, namely ensuring that all children's rights are fulfilled starting from proper housing, education, clothing and food, health, and legal protection. Then the child empowerment program has development indicators, indicators strengthening the potential to train the potential abilities of children in the field of education and creativity and indicators strengthening children's independence to live a disciplined, independent, responsible life by empowering entrepreneurial-based independence training
