Proses Produksi dan Distribusi Kerang pada Masyarakat Nelayan Kota Tanjungbalai Kecamatan Teluk Nibung
Abstract
This article is entitled Process of Production and Distribution of Shellfish in the Fishing Community of Tanjungbalai City, Teluk Nibung District. The purpose of this paper is to find out how the clam fishing community in Tanjungbalai City produces and distributes shellfish.
The method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach to try to analyze the phenomenon under study and then describe it as it is. The data collection process begins with building a report card with informants, then proceed with in-depth interview techniques and assisted with literature studies and documentation. Primary data in the form of data obtained directly by the author from the results of interviews and observations in this study. While secondary data obtained from the documents needed to complete the research.
The results of the study show that the pattern of distribution of fishermen's catches will mostly be distributed outside the city either by agents or by the shellfish shop itself. Actors in the distribution of shellfish caught by fishermen include: fishermen, toke, retail traders, itinerant traders (along-along) and agents who will distribute shellfish out of town and abroad. For fishermen who obtain capital and become the center of fishing is the toke, so the toke controls the production process to the distribution process and the toke controls pricing and sales.
