Analisis Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Permintaan dan Produksi Jagung di Provinsi Sumatera Utara

Abstract

As an important raw material in the global economy, corn is one of the food crops with a high nutritional value. Corn demand will continue to increase year over year in line with production increase, land availability or potential yields. This condition gives corn cultivation excel ent prospects in terms of demand. In addition to household consumption, corn is in demand in Indonesia as animal feed. The importance of corn to the community, it is necessary to know the evolution of corn demand in order to follow its fulfilment.The objective of study is to analyse the domestic price of factors, cemented income and price competition for corn demand in North Sumatra and to analyse the domestic price of corn, harvest prices and soybean prices for corn production in North Sumatra. The research method uses multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the main factors affecting corn demand are the domestic corn price and per capita income. The purebred chicken’s price does not have a significant impact on corn demand. Per capita revenue and purebred chicken price have a positive impact on corn demand in North Sumatra province, and the factors affecting corn production are significantly domestic price and harvest. Soybean prices do not have a significant impact on corn production. The domestic price and harvest are having a positive impact on corn production in North Sumatra province.
