This study aimed to analyze soybean demand and
supply in North Sumatera Province. Data utilized were secondary data obtained
from the North Sumatera Province Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) and North
Sumatera Province Department of Food Crops and Horticulture from 2001-2021.
The analysis method employed was the multiple liniear regression. The study
results suggest that per capita income, import price and rupiah exchange rate
variables simultaneously significantly affected soybean demand. Per capita
income and import prices partially have a positive effect, while per capita income
and the rupiah exchange rate have a significant effect on soybean demand. The
Ratio of import prices to domestic price, consumption, technology and the rupiah
exchange rate simultaneously has a significant effect on soybean supply. The
Ratio of import prices to domestic price, technology and the rupiah exchange rate
partially has s positive effect, while the ratio of import prices to domestic prices,
consumption and technology has a significant effect on soybean supply in North
Sumatra Province.
