This research used descriptive quantitative method. This research aims to find out the use of libraries and online information sources to support the learning process by Library and Information Science students of University of North Sumatera. The population in this research is active students of Library and Information Science of University of North Sumatera, class of 2017-2021, which consists of 410 people. Sampling measurement is determined by using Slovin formula with the total samples of 80 people. The sampling technique used proportionate stratified random sampling. Technique of data collection is carried out using the questionnaire. In using the library, the results showed that the purpose of the respondents using the library collection is to do their coursework (37.5%), the number of books borrowed is 1 book (40%) in each visit. Then, respondents often experience problems when using library services (50%), the most frequently used service is the reading room service (37.5%), the rate of visits to the library is 1-2 times in 1 month (50%). Based on the utilization of online information sources, the results of the research show that respondents use online information sources by downloading (33.8%), respondents sometimes (51.2%) use online information sources that are credible in learning, time spent using online information sources for learning is 2 hours (32.5%), the purpose of using online information sources is to increase knowledge (32.5%). Afterwards, online information sources are considered to play an important role in learning (56.3%), the most frequently used format of online information sources is text (57.5%), obstacles when using online information sources is the lack of ability to find relevant information (35 %). Thus, the use of the library in the learning process can be stated to be not good, especially in the use of collections and the frequency of using the library which is still low. Conversely, the use of online information sources is quite good, online information sources are considered to help learning and there are rarely obstacles when used. However, there are drawbacks in how to use it.
