Objective : Identification of related factors body dissatisfaction scores in Prime One School Medan international high school students
Methods : This study is a predictive multivariate study with a cross-sectional approach to determine the relationship between body dissatisfaction factors in high school students at Prime One School Medan international school. To assess body dissatisfaction using the Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ-34) instrument
Results : A total of 151 subjects participated in this study. With a median value (min-max) aged 16(15-17) years, the subject is female, the majority of 78 people (51.7%) the median value (min-max) body mass index 17(19.22-20.78), ethnic subjects, the majority natives 78 people (51.7%), median value (min-max) duration of playing social media 3(1-5) hours, subject to physical activity, active majority 78 people (51.7%), median value (min-max) parental income 30 (15-55) million, the subject lives with 120 parents (79.5%). The mean value ± s.b BSQ-34 score (172.56±18.13), there is a relationship between age and BSQ-34 score (p = 0.031 and r value = + 0.14), body mass index (p = 0.006 and r value = + 0.125), duration playing social media (p<0.001 and r=+0.29), parental income (P<0.001 and r=-0.409), living with parents (p=0.004 and r=+0.13)
Conclusion : Factors related to body dissatisfaction scores in Prime One School Medan international high school students are age, body mass index, duration of playing social media, parental income, and living with parents
