Karakteristik Beton Polimer Berbasis Pasir, Serbuk Cangkang Kerang, dan Serat Kulit Durian dengan Pengikat Resin Epoksi
Abstract
Research had been carried out on polymer concrete from a mixture of sand, shell
powder, durian skin fiber, and epoxy resin. This study aimed to determine the effect
of the addition of epoxy resin on the physical properties and mechanical properties
of polymer concrete samples made by weighing, mixing and printing stages. The
mixture ratio of sand: shell powder: durian skin fiber was made with the composition
(50:50:0),(49:49:2), (48:48:4), (47:47:6),(46: 46:8, and (45:45:10. This study aimed
to determine the effect of adding epoxy resin on the physical and mechanical
properties of polymer concrete samples by conducting tests related to density,
porosity, water absorption, tensile strength, flexural strength, compressive strength,
and microstructural analysis. Based on the test results it can be stated that the best
composition of polymer concrete with the addition of fiber for physical density
properties was 1.684 gr/cm3 with the composition C2 (49:49:2:30). The smallest
porosity and water absorption were respectively 0,75% and 0,466 % in composition
A2 (49:49:2:20). While the best composition of polymer concrete with fiber addition
for mechanical properties of tensile strength is 13.52 MPa in composition C2
(49:49:2:30), flexural strength was 34.481 MPa in composition C6 (45:45:10:30),
and compressive strength of 29.2 MPa on composition C2 (49:49:2:30). From the
results of microstructural analysis tests on polymer concrete samples, it can be seen
the shape of the micrographs and the chemical element content, mass percent, and
percent atoms present in the samples tested using SEM-EDX
