Pengaruh Kompetensi Mahasiswa dan Dukungan Fasilitas Terhadap Kepuasan Pengguna Jasa pada Event Mahasiswa Program Studi Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exidbition (Mice) Politeknik Negeri Medan

Abstract

MICE stands for Meetings, Incentives, Convention, and Exhibition. MICE is a tourism activity in the form of combination between leisure and business usually involving a group of people. MICE brings an impact to the macro-economy through the event organizers in which all layers are related and reach a large coverage (place, price, job and business opportunity which is very potential to be developed). The users of the service provided by the students of MICE Study Program in the event implementation are the sponsors, exhibitors and associations contributing assistance in the implementation of every MICE event activity. Several factors influencing the success of exhibition event/activity are the compentency owned by the executive event organizer and the support of facility and infrastructure in the preparation of the implementation of exhibition activity. The purpose of this study was to find out the influence of students ' competency and the support of facility on the satisfaction of the exhibition participants in the exhibition organized by the students of MICE (meeting, incentive, convention, and exhibition) Study Program, State Polytechnic of Medan. The population of this study was 32 exhibition participants that had at least 2 (two) times participated in this exhibition event organized by the students of MICE (meeting, incentive, convention, and exhibition) Study Program, State Polytechnic of Medan. The primary data for this study were obtained through questionnaire distribution and the secondary data were obtained through library research. The data obtained were analyzed through multiple linear regression tests. The resulty of this study showed that there was a linear influence between the variable of Students' Competency (Xi) owned by the students of MICE (meeting, incentive, convention, and exhibition) Study Program, State Polytechnic of Medan and the variable of Facility Support (X2) owned during even implementation on the satisfaction of the service users (Y,), where in this context, they are the exhibitors participating during the exhibition implementation period.
