dc.description.abstract | Research on asphalt-latex modification of liquid natural rubber (Liquid Natural Rubber). The manufacture of liquid natural rubber latex starts from the preparation of fresh natural rubber using an emulsifier in the form of triton x-114 stirred for 12 hours, then the oxidative degradation process is carried out using phenylhydrazine and O2 at a temperature of 600C for 12 hours, then modified asphalt: LNR with a variation of 80: 20, 60 : 40, 40 : 60, 20 : 80, then characterized using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and tested for compressive strength using the Universal Testing Machine (UTM). FTIR analysis showed that there were no new functional groups in the asphalt-latex natural rubber modification which indicated that no chemical reaction occurred in this experiment, but that what happened was physical mixing which was marked by the mixing of asphalt with liquid natural rubber latex. The molecular weight of liquid natural rubber (LNR) yielded 2.4798 x 104 using an Ostwald viscometer, the compressive strength test was carried out using fine aggregate and coarse aggregate, the results of the compressive strength test with ASTM D 1559–76 showed the optimum compressive strength value at variations 80 Asphalt : 20 LNR of 4.016MPa. | en_US |
