Pengaruh Penambahan Serat Ampas Tebu terhadap Kuat Lentur dan Kuat Tarik Belah Beton Normal
Abstract
Concrete is the most widely used construction material today due to its
chemical and mechanical properties, which make it more resistant to the
environment and provide great durability. Fiber concrete is concrete in which
natural or artificial fibers are added. Adding fiber to the concrete mix is expected
to improve the properties and characteristics of concrete. Bagasse fiber was
obtained from the Kwala Madu Sugar Factory (PGKM) PT. Nusantara Plantation
II. In this experiment, the test specimens were made with variations of bagasse fiber
0%, 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75%, 1%, 1.25% and 1.5% by weight of cement. The tests
carried out were flexural strength and split tensile strength tests with beam
specimens with p=53cm, b=15cm, l=15cm and cylinders with a diameter of 150
mm and a height of 300 mm.
From the results of this study, the slump value for concrete with variations
in the addition of bagasse fiber was lower than concrete with 0% fiber variations.
Then the flexural strength test was carried out at the age of 28 days of concrete, the
flexural strength value of the addition of bagasse fiber to the concrete with
variations of 0%, 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75%, 1%, 1.25% and 1 .5% respectively, namely
3.62 MPa, 3.83 MPa, 4.13 MPa, 4.30 MPa, 3.57 MPa, 3.14 MPa and 2.71 MPa.
The split tensile strength values from adding bagasse fiber to concrete were 2.01
MPa, 2.08 MPa, 2.23 MPa, 2.34 MPa, 1.95 MPa, 1.70 MPa and 1.50 MPa,
respectively. The highest flexural strength value was in adding 0.75% bagasse fiber
by 4.30 MPa, which increased 19%, and the lowest flexural strength value was
obtained in concrete with a variation of 1.5%, which was 2.71 MPa. The highest
split tensile strength value was in the variation of adding 0.75% bagasse fiber of
2.34 MPa, which means there was an increase of 16%, and the lowest split tensile
strength value was obtained in concrete with a variation of 1.5%, which is equal to
1.50 MPa.
