dc.description.abstract | Serum is very interesting to be applied in cosmetic products because the active
substances contained in the serum are more so that the serum is faster and more
effective in dealing with skin problems. Skin aging is a dermatological change that is
generally caused by aging or exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Compounds
that can capture free radicals are antioxidants. Antioxidants can be used to protect
the skin from damage and can prevent skin aging. Chitosan oligosaccharides are
known to have potential as antimicrobials. Gold nanoparticles are widely used in the
cosmetic field because they can increase skin elasticity, increase skin metabolism
and have anti-aging properties. Serum formulations are made by mixing active
ingredients with additives, then evaluation of serum formulations is tested by Anti-
Bacterial Test with Results for Staphylocoscus bacteria with an optimum value of
16.2 mm and for Pronionibacterium Acnes bacteria with an optimum value of 13.5
mm. Antioxidant Test 86.2%, Anti Aging with Good percentage, Viscosity Test
1.0443 cP, pH 6.34-6.37, Homogeneity Test and Constant Stability Test for 4 weeks
and Irritation Test gave negative results on the parameters of the irritation reaction.
Thus it can be concluded that this serum formulation can be applied to facial skin. | en_US |
