Abstract

The objective of this Final Assignment is to delve into the activity of book processing in the library of SMA Negeri 1, Medan. It is the principal activity in the library because the books cannot be used by the users before they have not been processed. This process arranges the book collection neatly and systematically so that they can be found easily by the users. The Final Assignment employs the methods of observation, interview, documentation, and library research. The result of the analysis shows that the book processing in the Library of SMA Negeri 1, Medan, consists of taking inventory, cataloguing, classifying, facilitating physical equipment for the books, and arranging the books. It is also demonstrated that the book collection in the Library of SMA Negeri 1, Medan, tends to have been better processed even though there are still some weaknesses such as lack of fund and short of librarians.
