The worlds increasing complexity, competiveness, interconnectivity, and depen- dence on Technology generate new challenge for nation and individuals that can- not be met by continuing education a usual. With the proliferation of complex system have new come technologies for communication, collaborations, and con- ceptualization. These technologies have led to significant change in the form of mathematical thinking that are required beyond the classroom. This paper argues for the need to incorporate future-oriented understanding and competencies with in the mathematic curriculum, through intellectually simulating activitie that draw upon multidisciplinary content and contexs. This paper also argues for greater recognition of childrens learning potential, a increasingly complex learners capable of dealing with cognitively demanding tasks.en_US
