Natural disasters in the region cannot be avoided, because natural disasters are natural phenomena that cannot be known with certainty when they will occur. An example of a natural disaster in North Sumatra is the eruption of Mount Sinabung. If a disaster occurs, disaster management measures are needed, so that disaster management for the Mount Sinabung eruption is carried out by several agencies, such as the Karo Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and also the Karo Regency Social Service, therefore the Karo Regency BPBD coordinates with the Karo Regency Social Service in response to the eruption of Mount Sinabung. The purpose of this study is to describe how the coordination of the Karo Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) with the Karo Regency Social Service in managing the Mount Sinabung eruption disaster. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviewing, observing, and recording documents related to the coordination of the Karo Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) with the Karo Regency Social Service Office in dealing with the Mount Sinabung eruption disaster. The data obtained is then analyzed qualitatively by examining all the data that has been collected which is supported by the results of interviews with the Handayaningrat theoretical approach which suggests that coordination can be seen through communication, awareness of the importance of coordination, participant competence, agreement, commitment, and coordination incentives, and continuity of planning. From the research results, it can be seen that the coordination of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) with the Karo Regency Social Service in dealing with the Mount Sinabung eruption disaster still needs to be improved and improved. In terms of Relocation problem when before or after the Eruption occurred but it looks still lacking of communication between the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Karo Regency and the Karo Regency Social Service regarding their respective roles or tasks, the slow process of disaster management was caused by limited funds which resulted in the community not being aware of any assistance in Relocation during the Eruption of mount Sinabung.en_US
