Abstract

Social entrepreneurship is a crucial concept to realize rural social welfare It refers to the dedication of an individual who has leadership character and cooperates actively with the society to realize collective welfare. The objective of this research is to analyse the Growing of Social Enterpreneurship by means of the BUMDes (Village-owned Enterprises) of Pematang Johar Village. This descriptive qualitative research collects data through interviews, literature study, and observation. The results of the observation are analysed, combined and added with secondary data. The research finds out the growing of social entrepreneurship through the BUMDes of Pematang Johar Village is still limited resulted from unequal understanding of the BUMDes managers concerning the concept and definition of social entrepreneurship Consequently, the social problems in Pematang Johar Village are not maximally resolved The growing of social enterpreneurship through the BUMDes of Pematang Johar Village is also impeded because the business units are unprofessionally managed by incompetent people Nevertheless, it can be concluded that the whole process of the social entrepreneurship inn Pematang Johar Village has been well operated as proven by effectiveness of the business units of the BUMDes that manage to give significant financial contribution distributed to resolve the social problems in Pematang Johar Village
