    Abstract
Jeruju plant (A. ilicifolius Linn.) is a mangrove plant that grows in tide-prone areas. One of the advantages of jeruju leaves is that they may be used to produce a functional drink. The purpose of this research was to determine the concentration of secondary metabolites, proximate, characterization, and public preference for jeruju leaf tea from three different locations: Marelan, Percut, and Gebang. Chemical components in jeruju leaf simplicia were analyzed using the characterization test, phytochemical screening, proximate test, and the level of preference is tested with a hedonic test. The findings of the characterization test revealed that jeruju Marelan leaves had the highest levels of soluble in water extract and ethanol soluble extract, at 29.11% and 18.09%, respectively. The phytochemical screening study revealed the presence of saponins, tannins, flavonoids, glycosides, and steroids. The highest water content, ash content, and fat content are found in jeruju leaves from Percut with 11.11%, 0.5%, and 3.39%, respectively, whereas the highest protein content is found in jeruju leaves from Gebang with a value of 19, 57%. According to the hedonic test results, tea leaves from Percut are the most desired tea. Based on the results of the study, the characterization and proximate test achieve results that satisfy the established standards.
