Analisis Perubahan Tutupan Lahan Kota Medan Bagian Hilir Tahun 2005-2019

Abstract

Changes in land use and cover are closely related to an area's population increase. This study aimed to analyze and map the types of land cover in the lower reaches of Medan City in the 2005-2019-time period. This research was conducted in the downstream part of Medan City, consisting of four sub-districts: Medan Belawan Sub-district, Medan Labuhan Sub-district, Medan Marelan Sub-district, and Medan Deli Sub-district. Field surveys were carried out in each sub-district in the downstream part of Medan City. Image data processing is done with the ERDAS application. Land cover changes analysis and map making using the Geographic Information System (GIS) application. The land cover in the downstream part of Medan City is mangroves, ponds, paddy fields, shrubs, settlements, open land, and water bodies. The settlement is the most extensive type of land cover, namely 4,893.72 Ha. Shrubs were the land cover that experienced the most significant change from 2005-2019. Information regarding land cover changes in the downstream part of Medan City is expected to be information for stakeholders in making decisions, especially in Medan City.
