Natural dyes are dyes obtained from plant, animal or mineral sources. Every plant has the potential to be used as a dye. One of the plants that can produce natural dyes is sikkam (Bischofia javanica) which is commonly found in North Sumatra. The sikkam parts used in this study were the sikkam branches/twigs and leaves. This research was conducted to analyze the content of dyes from sikkam branches/twigs and leaves which are used as color binders as well as natural dyes and to analyze the effect of the ratio of raw materials and water solvents on the quality of dyeing on fabric media. The research method was carried out by preparing the raw materials, carrying out the extraction process, the scouring process, the mordanting process, the cloth immersion process in sikkam dye and the ecoprint process. The yields produced by the ratio of sikkam leaves and water solvent 1:10 and 1:5 were 18.25% and 21.65%. The yields of sikkam branch/twig ratio samples and water solvents of 1:10 and 1:5 were 11% and 16.3%. The lowest color retention value was found in the control, namely 6.36% and the highest color retention was found in the treatment with a ratio of leaves and water solvent 1:5 with a value of 10.25%. Of all the treatments that have been carried out, the treatment of the fabric with a natural dye with a ratio of leaves and water solvent of 1:5 produces a more concentrated (good) color with the resulting fabric color, namely the basic color of the cloth is brown and the color of the leaves is brownish green.
