Isolasi dan Identifikasi Fungi Endofit dari Daun dan Kulit Batang Sonneratia Alba Asal Desa Lubuk Kertang Kabupaten Langkat, Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Endophytic fungi are fungi that live in the tissues of living plants and usually do not harm their hosts. Endophytic fungi are one of the microbes that have been found in almost all plant families, including mangrove plants. Sonneratia alba is a mangrove plant species that is commonly found living in sandy loam areas facing the sea. S. alba is usually referred to by the surrounding community by the name of pedada. The aim of this research were to isolate and identify endophytic fungi from the leaves and bark of S. alba from Lubuk Kertang Village, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra. The research was conducted from April 2022 to June 2022. Sampling of leaves and bark of pedada (S. alba) stems was conducted in Lubuk Kertang Village, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra. Research activities including tools sterilization and manufacture of PDA media (Potato Dextrose Agar), isolation, purification and identification of endophytic fungi were carried out at the Soil Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara. The results showed that 16 isolates of endophytic fungi obtained from the leaves and bark of S. alba. Eight isolate resulting from leaf and 8 fungi isolates from bark. The identification results showed that all the isolates were classified as Aspergillus. A total of 3 Aspergillus fungi species were found in leaf samples and 3 different species of Aspergillus fungi were found in bark.
