dc.description.abstractBased on law on Halal Product Guarantee, its purpose is to provide comfort, security, and certainty for the availability of halal products for the people in consuming and using the products. Its purpose is also to increase the added-value for business people in producing and selling halal products. Law No. 33/2014 on Halal Product Guarantee is amended to Employment Act in wich the Articles which have been amended are inserted by Article 4 which requires micro, small and medium business people to have halal certifications for their products. The research problem are as follows : how about the regulation on halal product guarantee in the pre- and post- issuance of the Employment Act, how about the process to get them in the post- issuance of the Employment Act, how about its implementation in the UMKM’s food products in Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency in the post issuance of the Employment Act. The research uses juridical normative method supported by empirical data gathered by conducting library research and interview. Primary and secondary data are analyzed by using qualitative method. The result of the research shows that Halal Certification in the UMKM food product in Labuhanbatu Selatan regency in the post- issuance of the Employment Act No. 11/2020 has been implemented although it is not effective enough caused by internal and external factors. The internal factors are as follows : UMKM business people lack of knowledge of the importance of halal certification, they lack of awareness, and they guarantee their own products as halal ones. Meanwhile, the external factor is that the personnel of Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency are not complete concerning the organization of Halal Product Guarantee ; therefore, there is no special accompaniment for UMKM business people in the process of getting halal certification freely.en_US
