| dc.description.abstract | Regional planning is a development planning process that is intended to
make changes towards better development for a community, government, and
environment in a certain area. In the context of regional development, the role of
information technology is needed to provide the best and most reliable information.
Thus, the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is carried out in
maintaining and improving roads in Langkat Hilir Regency, Langkat Regency,
North Sumatra. The road network in the Langkat Hilir area is not limited to existing
data, because the data is not up to date, the classification of road functions is
unclear and there is overlap between the status of national roads, regency roads
and village roads. changing road conditions,
Based on the lowest value of interest between sub-districts, namely between
Secanggang District and Tanjung Pura District. The observation results show that
the Secanggang and Tanjung Pura sub-districts are located next to each other
which are bounded by a very wide river, namely the Wampu River. Thus a
connecting bridge is needed between the two sub-districts so that access is easier.
The results of the analysis show that the connectivity of some areas still needs
development. Road conditions do not yet support accessibility to tourist areas. To
increase accessibility, it is necessary to have a new road network, connecting
