| dc.description.abstract | Nurse manager is the unit leader who is fully and directly responsible to the units of nursing, administration, strategic planning, and nursing center such as the hemodialysis unit that provides service of kidney replacement therapy. The prevention and management of Covid-19 infections ((PPI Covid-19) is an effort to decrease the infection transmission in health facilities. The research aims to deeply investigate the nurse manager's experience in implementing the strategies for the prevention and management of Covid-19 infections in the hemodialysis unit. It is qualitative research with a descriptive phenomenology approach involving 10 participants selected through purposive sampling technique from three different hospitals, namely H. Adam Malik General and Teaching Hospital, Universitas Sumatera Utara Hospital, and Rasyida Kidney Hospital Medan. Data are collected using in-depth interviews with the duration of 30-60 minutes and analyzed using Colaizzi approach. Research instruments are demographic questionnaires, interview guide, field notes, voice recorder, and the researcher is also acted as research instrument. The result, regarding marse manager's experience in implementing the Prevention and Management Strategies of Covid-19 Infections in Hemodialysis Unit, indicates 5 themes, namely (1) adapting by using the PPI Covid-19, (2) managing the PPI Covid-19, (3) having obstacles in implementing the PPI Covid-19, (4) trying to increase the nurses, patients and visitors compliance, and (5) having expectation on PPI Covid-19. It can be concluded that nurse manager through leadership, preparedness, and the effort to keep innovating becomes a strategy in managing human resources as well as having innovation to form a solid nurse team in implementing the prevention and management of Covid-19 infection. | en_US |
