Working climate refers to people’s perception of the working envirotment which is
reflected in their attitude, behavior, belief, ambition, opinion, and actions that
encourage the human resource involved in the organizational to work. Working
climate plays an important role in an organization to create an environment where
people feel comfortable and motivated. Clinical nurses wish for a climate that can
provide job statisfaction with good working conditions. The research aimed to
explore nurses’ experiences in facing organizational climate changes during the
Covid-19 pandemic in a hospital. This is qualitative research with a descriptive
phenomenological approach. The number of participants involved in this research
were 8 active nurses. This research employed apurposive sampling technique and
the data collection method used was an in-depth interview with a duration of 40-60
minutes. Data were analyzed using the Colaizzi method. Based on the results, five
themes were obtained namely nurses’ adaption when facing the organizational
climate changes during the Covid-19 pandemic, the creation of strategirs for
organizational climate during the Covid-19 pandemic, nurses’ psychological
changes when facing the organizational climate, challenges during the Covid-19
pandemic, and expectations when facing the organizational climate. The research
concludes that nurses experience psychological impacts due to the feeling of
discomfort when wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and the Feeling
of excessive anxiety and stress. Therefore, nurses require social support from all
parties in order to give nursing care and create a good organizational climate that
eventually can increase the nursing care quality.
