Pengaruh Dukungan Sosial Online dan Locus Of Control Internal terhadap Prison Adjustment Warga Binaan Perempuan

Abstract

Prison adjustment is defined as a multidimensional construct that can be understood as a process of changing individual behavior or experience to fit the prison environment. Ones of the factors that influence prison adjustment are social support online and locus of control internal. Support from friends while in prison can reduce negative feelings, such as feeling looked down upon or hostile to all friends, and will ultimately increase positive attitudes while in prison or after leaving prison. Inmates with internal LoC are having a better ability to adapt in prison and after being released from prison. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of online social support and locus of control internal toward prison adjustment of female inmates in the Class IIA Lapas Medan. This research method used a quantitative approach with multiple regression techniques. The subjects in this study amounted to 205 inmates who were taken by random sampling technique. The measurement in this study uses a modified Online Social Support Scale, a modified prison locus of control scale, and a modified Prison Adjustment Questionnaire scale. The results of this research shows that (1) Social support online has a significant effect on prison adjustment, (2) locus of control has a significant effect on prison adjustment, (3) online social support and locus of control internal together influence on prison adjustment of female inmates in Class IIA Medan Prison (.000; p < .05).
