Pain of Post-Orthopedic Surgery is the most common nursing problem and is often felt by patients and is considered painful. Non-pharmacological pain management by listening to the murottal (recitation) Al-Qur'an can relieve pain in postoperative patients. This research aims at determining effectiveness of murottal Al-Qur'an therapy on pain intensity in post-operative patients after orthopedic surgery. In this research, the Murottal therapy is carried out by playing the recording of recitation of Surah (Chapter) Ar-Rahman recited by Qori Sych Misyari Rasyid Alafasy for 15 minutes to the Intervention group. Non-equivalent pre-post quasi experiment design is used with a control group. The population is constituted by all post-operative patients after long bone ORIF surgery. Purposive sampling technique is applied to select a sample of 74 people divided into the intervention group and control group with 37 people in each group. Measurement of pain intensity is performed twice, namely before and after the murottal Al-Qur'an therapy. The instrument used in this research is a Brief Pain Inventory (BPI). The data are sourced from primary and secondary data. The results of data analysis using the Mann-Whitney test show p-value of 0.000 (a <0.05) indicating that Ho is rejected and Ha fails to be rejected or the murottal Al-Qur'an therapy is effective in reducing pain intensity in post- operative patients after orthopedic surgery at the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) dr. Fauziah Bireuen. The murottal Al-Qur'an therapy can be applied as an intervention in providing nursing care to post-operative patients after ORIF surgery in order to reduce pain levels.
