dc.description.abstract | One of the environmental impact in the operation of the airport is the decreased quality
of ambient air. Sources of pollutants were from the exhaust of aircraft engines and
motor vehicles such as CO, CO2, HC, NO2, etc. Kualanamu International Airport is one
of the public services airport in North Sumatera. This study aimed to calculate the
pollutant concentrations of CO and CO2 in the ambient air, quantify the emission load
of CO and CO2 from aircraft and vehicles, and predicts the contributions of CO and
CO2 from aircraft and motor vehicles on the quality of ambient air in area of Kualanamu
International Airport. The method that used is quantitative and qualitative methods.
Quantitative methods were used to estimate the emission loads from motor vehicles
based on the volume of vehicles and emission factors from the literature and also used
Tier-2 method for calculating the emission loads from aircraft. Analysis of the data in
this study is the statistical analysis with correlation and linear regression to determine
the effect of the ambient air. Based on the result of observation, the maximum of
concentration CO is 16.302,72 µg/Nm3
and the minimum of concentration CO is
3.435,58 µg/Nm3
. For the maximum of CO2 is 6.206.789,37 µg/Nm3
and the minimum
is 4.070.0674,84 µg/Nm3
. The highest emission load from aircraft of CO is 565.792,16
kg/h and the lowest is 155.307,9 kg/h. For the highest emission load from aircraft of
CO2 is 200.164.424,5 kg/h and the lowest is 38.884.064,5 kg/h. Meanwhile, the highest
emission load from motor vehicles of CO concentration is 4.848,36 gr/h and the lowest
is 3.646,64 gr/h. For the highest emission load from motor vehicles of CO2
concentration is 51.299,25 gr/h and the lowest is 38.990,42 gr/h. The result shows that
aircraft emission contribute 28% of the CO concentration that measured. Meanwhile,
motor vehicles emission contribute 65% of CO2 concentration that measured | en_US |
