| dc.description.abstract | The title of this paper is “The Description of Figure Of Speech in William Wordsworth
Selected Poems”. The purposes from this paper is to find out what types of figure of
speech in selected poems by William Worsworth and the meanings of it. The research
method used by the writer is to use a qualitative descriptive method by searching and
collecting some books which is related to Figure of Speech in literary work. Then, the
writer reads and selects five poems from William Wordsworth, classify, interpret the
figure of speech and describe the figure of speech in the selected poems of William
Wordsworth. In the process of finding figure of speech in the poem, there are four
figures of speech that dominate. They are Metaphor, Personification, Simile, and
Hyperbole. In this paper, the writer uses the theory of figure of speech from Gorys
