Potensi Museum Tjong A Fie Medan dan Strategi yang dilakukan untuk Meningkatkan Kunjungan Wisatawan

Abstract

The Tjong A Fie Museum is a historic building located at Jalan Ahmad Yani No.105, Kesawan, Medan. Which has been designated as a cultural heritage building. The aim of the study was to find out the potential of the Tjong A Fie Museum as a tourist attraction in the city of Medan and the strategies undertaken by the Tjong A Fie Museum to increase tourist visits. The research method used is library research where data is obtained from books, articles and other library sources, as well as using field research methods direct interviews with the management. The research results obtained show the potential in the Tjong A Fie Museum, namely: (1) Library; (2) Instagrammable space; (3) Tour guide; (4) A clean, tidy, and comfortable place; (5) Acculturation of buildings from 3 cultures. While the strategies undertaken to increase tourist visits are: (1) Involve volunteers and apprentice students; (2) Optimizing promotions; (3) Cooperate with the tourism agency; (4) Performing arts typical of Chinese culture; (5) Virtual zoom tours; (6) Active in inter-museum activities; (7) Facility development; (8) Collaborating with campuses in the city of Medan.
