Path analysis is an overview of multiple regression statistical studies that are applied to examine the direct or indirect relationship of different variables. In this study, path analysis is applied to the poverty problem faced by Medan City to find out what factors directly or indirectly affect the poverty level based on 2002-2021 data. Data on the number of members in the household, unemployment rate, education level, economic growth, inflation, population density, and poverty rate can be obtained from the Central Statistics Agency of North Sumatra Province. Based on the research results that have been obtained, it can be said that the variables that directly affect the poverty level are education level of 6.33% and population density of 28.15%. Meanwhile, the variables that indirectly affect the poverty rate are the number of members in the household, the unemployment rate, economic growth, and inflation.
