Analisis Permintaan Kacang Kedelai di Sumatera Utara

Abstract

The Objective of this research is to know the factors effecting soyabean demand in Sumatera Utara. By Using Several theories of demand and from previous research on soyabean demand, the variables observed in this research are last year demand,soyabean price, rice price as complement, peanut price 11.s subtitutes and income per capita. This research uses the time series data in period of 1991-2005, as secondary data from Statistical Station Board of Sumatera Utara, and it is analyzed by using Ordinary Least Square method. This research used Partial Adjustment Method. This research finds that factors effecting significantly the demand of soyabean in Sumatera Utara are last year demand, price of soyabean, price of rice price of peanut and income per capita. Elasticity of soyabean price either short term or long term is inelastic (less than 0). However , elasticity of short term income is larger than elasticity of long term income. If there is increase in income for I 0%, than it will result in the increased number of soyabean in demand for 5,57% in short term, and 1,05% for long term.
