This thesis focuses on translation equivalence on bilingual Active English For Nurses. The goal of a translation process is to find translation equivalence. The objectives of this study are (1) to describe the translation technique by Molina and Albir which used in translating words and phrases from English into Indonesia, and (2) to describe the translation equivalence of words and phrases from English into Indonesia. By applying descriptive qualitative method, the data taken from two sources namely Active English for Nurses and the evaluators on accuracy of translation product. The data is collected by identifying of data into words and phrases from source language into target language. Then, the data is classified based on the translation techniques. The questioners spreading technique is used to evaluate the accuracy of translation. The result of the study revealed that single translation technique is used/or 91 data (80.5%), couplet translation technique is used for 16 data (14.2%) and triplet translation technique is used for 6 data (5.3%). Based on the frequency of translation technique, it shows that literal translation is the highest 42 (37.1%), followed by adaptation 19 (17%), natural borrowing 17 (15%), pure borrowing 10 (9%), descriptive 6 (5.3%), discursive creation 4 (3.5%), reducing 4 (3.5%), amplification 5 (4.4%), modulation 3 (2.6%) and transposition 3 (2.6%). lt also show that 76 data (67.9%) are translated accurately, 25 data (22.3%) are translated less accurately and 11 data (9. 8%) are translated inaccurately.
