dc.description.abstractThis study aims to determine the relationship between social media addiction and interpersonal relationships. The method used in this study is quantitative method and the sampling technique used was cluster sampling. The number of samples in this study was 239 students from two high schools who were randomly selected. Data was collected by distributing the social media addiction and interpersonal relationship scales online using Google Forms. The Social Media Addiction Scale uses a scale developed by Shahnawaz & Rehman (2020), adapted by Rahmadhani & Rangkuti (2021) into Indonesian based on the criteria for social media addiction proposed by Griffiths. The scale of Interpersonal Relations developed by the researcher is based on four elements of interpersonal relationships. The results of this study indicate no negative relationship between social media addiction and interpersonal relationships in adolescents with a significance value of 0.978 (p>0.05).en_US
