This study aimed to understand the effect of self-control on Internet gambling addiction among college students in Medan City. This study was conducted using quantitative research methods, using the Self-Control Scale developed by Tangney, Baumeister and Boone in 2004 and the Game Addiction Scale (GAS) developed by Lemmens in 2009. The subjects of this study were university students in Medan City. The data analysis method adopts the simple linear regression analysis method. The results of this study suggest that self-control has a negative impact on game online addiction among high school students in Medan City. Self-control contributed 31% to game online addiction among Medan City college students, while the remaining 69% was affected by other factors not investigated in this study. This suggests that when there is self-control, addiction to online games decreases
