Analisis Daya Saing Ekspor Teh Indonesia di Pasar Internasional
Abstract
The objective of the research was to analyze and to identify the factors which
irifluenced competitive position of the Indonesian tea in the international market.
They were rate of exchange, inflation, and productivity. The research was
conducted by using estimation technique and pooled data which were the
combination of time-series data and cross section. It also used time-series data in
the period of2003-2012, while cross section components were six big countries in
tea export. They were Indonesia, China, India, Kenya, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam.
Competitiveness was analyzed by using the calculation of Revealed Comparative
Advantage (RCA) index in order to find out its comparative superiority. The
gathered data were processed by using Microsoft Excel 2007 and E-views 5.1
software program and analyzed by using pooled data regression analysis with
Fixed Effect Model (FEM) cross section weights. The result of the research
showed the Indonesian tea production had positive but insignificant irifluence on
the competitiveness of the Indonesian tea export in the international market, while
the variables of rate of exchange, inflation, and productivity had positive and
significant influence on the competitiveness of the Indonesian tea export in the
international market. Partially, the Indonesian tea export statistically did not
have any significant influence on the competitiveness, while the variable of rate of
exchange, inflation, and productivity had significant irifluence on the
competitiveness of the Indonesian tea export in the international market.
