Kajian Pemanfaatan Tumbuhan Obat Oleh Masyrakat Melayu di Kecamatan Tanjung Tiram Kabupaten Batubara

Abstract

The research about the application of medical plant has been done in Malay society in Kecamatan Tanjung Tiram Kabupaten Batubara. This research uses both quantitative and qualitative methods in taking the data by using purposive technique sampling and snowball sampling. The collection of the data uses an interview and questionnaire. Calculation of the data analysis uses Used Value (UVs), Relative Used Value (RUVi), Index of Cultural Significance (ICS) and Degradation of Society Knowledge (D). Based on the research, has founded 85 medical plants that used by Malay society in Kecamatan Tanjung Tiram Kabupaten Batubara. The data analyze result are founded Piper betle L plant have the highest Use Value i.e. 11,50 and Index of Cultural Significance i.e. 144. Besides that Kalanchoa sp plant have the lowest Use Value is i.e. 1,06 and Index of Cultural Significance i.e. 5. The highest Relative Use Value is Eleusine indica i.e. 4,00. The lowest Relative Use Value is Uncaria gambir Roxb Plant i.e. 0,46. Degradation of Society Knowledge (D) that occurring the highest degradation at the age group A (15-29) with the point 13,47% but at the age group B (30-49) have degradation 2,98%.
