dc.description.abstract | Introduction: Rocuronium is a commonly used neuromuscular blocking agent in anesthetic procedure with a side effect of pain on injection. This trial is to compare a lidocain 60 mg with lidocain 40 mg plus meperidine 25 mg iv in preventing pain on injection of rocuronium 1 mg/kg iv. Methods: A randomize double blind clinical trial. After getting the approval of ethical committee of Medical Faculty of University of Sumatera Utara, to 60 trial samples, age 18 - 60 years, physical status ASA 1 and 2, undergoing elective surgery with a general anesthesia in H. Adam Malik Hospital Medan. The sample is then divided into 2 groups. All sample used tourniquet with pressure 50 mmHg above systolic, then give lidocain 60 mg iv and mix with lidocain 40 mg plus petidine 25 mg iv . After one minute tourniquet release after that injection rocuronium 1 mg/ kg BB iv. An inspection of pain with Verbal Rating Scale is then conducted. Results: There is no difference in the elimination of pain during the injection of rocuronium 1 mg / kg BB iv with mix lidocain 40 mg plus petidine 25 mg iv compared to lidocain 60 mg iv (x2 , p = 0,462) Discussions: From a verbal rating scale mix lidocain 40 mg plus petidine 25 mg iv is no better than lidocain 60 mg iv in elimination of pain during the injection of rocuronium 1 mg / kg BB iv. | en_US |
